Sierra was founded in 2023 by former Salesforce co-CEO and OpenAI chairman Bret Taylor with ex-Google VP Clay Bavor. The pair set out to make customer-facing AI agents safe and deployable for the worlds biggest brands. The company quickly hit $100M ARR within 21 months and by May 2026 had raised nearly $1B at a $15.8B valuation.
