Founded in February 2023 in Paris by Stanislas Polu (former OpenAI research engineer, co-author of reasoning papers with Ilya Sutskever) and Gabriel Hubert (former Chief Product Officer at Alan). The two met at Stanford in 2007 and previously co-founded TOTEMS, a data analytics company acquired by Stripe in 2014, where they spent five years scaling products. Dust raised a EUR5M seed from Sequoia in June 2023, a $16M Series A in 2024, and a $40M Series B in May 2026 with Abstract, Sequoia, Snowflake Ventures and Datadog, surpassing $60M total funding.
