Co-founders Jeremy Zhang and Ansel Parikh started Finch in 2020 after working on embedded lending infrastructure. When COVID-19 hit and many clients pivoted to PPP loans that required real-time employment data, they realized payroll systems were a closed, fragmented data layer. They went through Y Combinator and built Finch as the universal API to unlock that data.
Finch integrates with 220+ employment systems powering use cases across lending, insurance, benefits, FP&A, and HR applications, with 50,000 employers and 5M employees connected.
Finch released its Organization API providing unified access to company and employee data across HRIS systems.

Finch closed a $40M Series B led by existing investors General Catalyst and Menlo Ventures, with participation from QED Investors, Altman Capital, and PruVen Capital. Total raised brought to $58.6M.
