The company expanded into a full drug-development platform, in-licensing and acquiring drug assets, and in December 2023 rebranded to Formation Bio to reflect its evolution into an AI-native pharma company.
In September 2025 Formation Bio appointed Louis Brenner as CMO and Daniel Neil as CTO, with Frank D'Amelio and Dashyant Dhanak as senior advisors.

In November 2024 Formation Bio launched Muse, an AI tool built with OpenAI; Sanofi adopted it for phase 3 multiple sclerosis trials.
