Skydio was founded in 2014 by MIT alumni and former Google[x] Project Wing engineers Adam Bry, Abraham Bachrach, and Matt Donahoe to apply autonomy research to consumer drones. After releasing the R1, R2, and Skydio 2 consumer drones, the company pivoted in 2023 to focus exclusively on enterprise and government customers.
