Infoblox was co-founded in 1999 in Chicago by Stuart Bailey, Michael Ford, Greg Lanier, Tom Kowal, and Ivan Pulleyn. The company pioneered the hardened DNS appliance, bringing reliability and security to core network services. Infoblox IPO'd on the NYSE in 2012 and was taken private by Vista Equity Partners in 2016.
In a breakout year for Universal DDI, Infoblox announced more than 200 organizations including Fortune 500 customers across financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail have adopted the suite.
Infoblox integrated its DNS-based threat intelligence natively into AWS Network Firewall to detect and block connections to malicious domains in cloud workloads.
Infoblox launched its Universal DDI suite, bringing together Universal DDI Management, Universal Asset Insights, and NIOS-X as a Service to unify network services across on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud.
Scott Harrell, formerly SVP and GM of Cisco's Intent-Based Networking business, was appointed President and CEO of Infoblox.
Vista Equity Partners completed acquisition of Infoblox for $26.50 per share, taking the DDI vendor private.
